Quaint 20th Century Concepts...

Just thinking a bit here about concepts, ideas, etc. that may seem distinctly "old fashioned" or perhaps just plain "dated" in the future...

A few ideas come to mind, such as "retirement", "privacy", and perhaps even "social security".

What else should be added to this list?

I would suggest:
- mobility
- economy of scale
- synchronicity
- centralizing
and even 'organization'.
In the future organizing will be more important than organizations. an organization will not only be agile, but volatile as well..

These are some really interesting insights.

The concept of mobility could be impaired by a convergence of telepresencing and higher transportation costs. It would be interesting to discuss which driver could be more influential over the next 5-10 years.

But, the idea of a volatile organization is also intriguing. Sounds like a good book title to me. Reminds me a bit of Toffler's transitive thrust and ad-hocratic organizations...
